Welcome to the SSEAYP International Philippines Message Board! Here are some tips and guidelines to remember:
1. The SIP Message Board is located at siphilippines.proboards79.com. Just in case you forget it, there is an easy link available at the SIP website www.siphilippines.com.
2. To be able to post in the message board, members simply have to sign up using a vaild e-mail address and pick a username. We suggest that username contains your fullname, initials or nickname and batch (e.g. frankiebata93, fob93 or frankie93). Only registered members can post in the message board. So everyone is encouraged to register, even foreign PYs.
3. The message board is divided into two fora, the General Board and the SIP Alumni Directory.
4. The General Board is divided into six categories:
(a) SIP News & Announcements - which will contain official updates from the SIP; only the SIP president and the webmaster can post here although all registered members can reply to it;
(b) General Board - this is an anything under the sun board;
(c) Searching for Alumni or contacts in... - for those looking for a particular member or wanting to know if there are members in a particular location;
(d) Visiting PYs, Batch Reunions... - this is where announcements about an upcoming visit of a foreign PY, batch reunions, and the like as well as photos of the visit or activity can be posted;
(e) SIP Market Place - items for sale, business opportunities, etc. are posted here; and
(f) Jobs & Career - job openings, available positions are posted here.
5. The SIP Alumni Directory is password protected so that only SIP members can access it. May we request all members to be responsible for keeping the secrecy of the password and not give it out to non-SIP members. You can ask for the password from any SIP director.
6. Once the directory is up, if there are any corrections or updates, please post them in the sub-board created especially for them. As soon as the corrections have been incorporated in the directory, we will delete the said posting.
7. We encourage all members to visit the message board regularly and post their photos as well.
8. In order to post photos, they should have been uploaded to a particular website such as "Friendster" and inserted in the message. Remember that the url of the photo should end with ".jpg"
9. Please take advantage of the "add tags" portion when posting. You can do the following effects to your text: bold, italicize, underline,striked, and color among others.
10. To post, just click on "new thread" in the specific forum you want to post in. Remember to post a message only once. If you want to make a correction to a previous message, you simply have to click the word "modify" in order to make the corrections.
11. When replying to a post, click on "reply" at the bottom of the specific thread. If you are replying to a specific part of a message, you can take advatage of the "quote" feature. Just make sure you delete the non-essential parts of the previous message.
12. For any questions, feel free to e-mail me at ivanhenares@siphilippines.com or webmaster@siphilippines.com. Have fun and enjoy!
